Week 3

Down 1 pound. I don’t have anything interesting to say, so I am not going to say anything.
down 33 lbs.

Week 2

So, I did great on my diet all week. Until Friday. The weekend is the hardest for me. And then last night I figured I ruined it already, so I might as well eat. The result? Down a pound from last week. Better a little loss than nothing at all I guess. What is the hardest time for you to stay on a diet and how do you overcome this?

To-date: 32lbs

So, here I am over a year since starting my initial diet and I am not at my goal. I lost over 40lbs. but unfortunately gained 14 of it back. Ugh. So, I was still down 26 lbs. I guess I should still be happy about that. Last week I decided to quietly start, in case I failed, no one would know. I lost 5 pounds since then. I feel somewhat back on track even though dieting is always a struggle. So, as of yesterday, 31lbs off overall. Better than none. I am not sure what I will feel comfortable at, but I will have to see as I go down. I am thinking an additional 30-40lbs. We’ll see.

All I want is to be comfortable in a pair of shorts and a tank top for the summer. Hopefully I can pull it off before the snow starts to fly. ugh.

I posted this so when you see me yearning for that piece of pizza, you’ll stop me.

Do you like the new look or the old one better?

WoW. It’s been along time since I wrote to all of you who read my pathetic blog. What has happened since December? LOTS. We moved into a new place (that I absolutely love), I strayed from my diet (which I am not happy about), and the Pooks got even cuter (which some might think is NOT possible), but alas, it happened and I love him more and more every day. He told me the other day that he wants to start his own blog for all his followers (remember back: His Pookshake brings all the girls to the yard). He has alot of grils as he likes to say (aka girls) on his tail. This blog will hopefully come sooner than later. What else has gone on? Hmm, oh yeah, we made our first batch of wine. Man did that come out good! (yes I tooted my own horn) We have to start our next batch as soon as we get to Clarks Summit to pick up some packets of yeast. What else? Matty Flap moved back! How awesome is that? He is cooler than ever. (yes that was possible too!) I am sure there is more that happened but you are probably sick of reading this, so I will shut up now. Have a good day everyone! I love Fridays :)

5 questions

Colin asked me a few questions about dieting….here goes.

What are the top five reasons you started to diet in the first place? I can only think of 3 right now.
Health. I was sick of “being sick” all the time.
Energy. I didn’t have ANY!
I WAS FAT!!! It actually hit me when we were at a wedding back in March of 2006. I didn’t realize how big I had become. After the wedding we were looking at pictures, and that’s when I realized I was unhealthy not to mention HUGE!

What was your biggest failure on the diet, and how did you overcome it?
The only thing I consider a failure has been the last few weeks when I have not been on the diet at all. It took me alot longer to lose the 40lbs. than the average person. I didn’t consider this a failure. The longer it takes to come off, the better your chances are at keeping it off. So, hopefully I can jump back on the diet before gaining it all back. (I did gain a few back)

Did blogging help or hinder your success?
It helped. There were so many successful on this diet. Reading about everyones losses for the week inspired me. I didn’t want to be the only person that gained! So, that helped alot.

What things did you do to help ensure your success?
I didn’t have alot of junk food around. I bought small candy bars and when I wanted one, I could have it. i just counted the calories. I kept them all frozen too. That way I couldn’t just inhale one spur of the moment. Also, now that we are moved and settled, we joined the gym. That’s got to help!!!

What is one recommendation you’d have for someone on Day 1 of their diet?
Don’t give up! The first week is the hardest. If you can get through that, it gets easier!
